Black Panther: The Movie That Inspires Girls
Black Panther is the breakthrough movie of all time. The movie is about T’challa, the new king of a hidden kingdom called Wakanda, and his journey through leadership after the death of his father.
With his family and loyal friends by his side, he has to fight to keep Wakanda safe while facing off against the powerful Eric Killmonger.
Black Panther recently hit $1 billion worldwide, and people are commending it for its great storyline, characters, and representation, especially of powerful, extremely smart female characters. Are you wondering which one of our four leading ladies you can relate to? Then you’ve come to the right place. Let’s get started!
Which Black Panther Girl Are You?
Are you a technology whiz who’s also extremely strong and brave?
Then you are… Shuri!
Shuri, played by Letitia Wright, is the tech guru of Wakanda, creating its technology as well as the suit for the Black Panther himself, King T’Challa. Wakanda is basically run on all of Shuri’s technological designs, such as both the black Panther suits, disks that allow her to control vehicles from her lab, and even Panther gauntlets (seen above) that shoot blasts of energy. Additionally, opposing the typical stereotype of technology whizzes, she’s an amazing fighter. Shuri never gives up throughout the movie and will do anything to protect her family and her kingdom.
Are you loyal, brave, interested in espionage, and can kick butt?
Then you are…Nakia!
Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) is Wakanda’s best spy, trained in martial arts and an ace at espionage. Nakia is down to earth and much more powerful than most of the men in the movie. She’s bold, passionate, brave, and is vital to the movie.
Are you independent, brave, a trendsetter, and interested in martial arts?
Then you are…Okoye!
Okoye, played by Danai Gurira, is the no-nonsense warrior of Wakanda who’s loyal to her king and her kingdom. She’s funny and strong, and her independence and bravery shine through all of her scenes. Her amazing tactics in battle as well as her great personality are fantastic attributes, and she’s already blazing the trail for strong women in the military.
Are you a wise, compassionate peacekeeper who will do anything to protect your family?
Then you are….Queen Ramonda!
T’challa’s mother, Queen Ramonda, played by Angela Bassett, is an extremely strong woman in Black Panther. She’s compassionate, loyal, and loves her children above everything else. She doesn’t give up hope, even in the darkest times, and her mix of compassion and bravery make her a force to be reckoned with in the movie.
Whether you relate to Nakia, Shuri, Okoye, or Queen Ramonda, you are definitely a strong girl who, one day, may start a revolution herself! Stay tuned for more articles!
